Dr Htein Linn Aung (Henry) is a medical practitioner with broad experience in general practice, public health, and clinical research, with a strong commitment to patient-centred care.
He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Medicine, Mandalay, and later obtained a Master of Public Health from the University of Auckland. Dr Aung was awarded a PhD in Medicine from the University of New South Wales, where his research focused on the interaction between chronic disease, ageing, and neurological health, particularly in people living with HIV.
Dr Aung has worked extensively in primary care, providing comprehensive management of acute and chronic medical conditions, preventive health care, and reproductive and sexual health services. His previous clinical roles include full-time general practice in Myanmar, hospital-based medical officer positions, and telehealth medical care. He has also worked with Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), delivering care to vulnerable and disaster-affected communities.
Dr Aung has a particular interest in chronic disease management, preventive health, sexual and reproductive health, mental health, and evidence-based medicine. He is known for his thoughtful, empathetic approach and his dedication to working collaboratively with patients to support long-term health and wellbeing.
